Volunteer & Intern Roles at NGO Tech

Administration & Coordination

Help keep projects, volunteers, and interns organized & supported.
Responsibilities:

  • Manage volunteer and intern onboarding and simple records
  • Assist with scheduling, meetings, and follow‑ups
  • Support communications

IT & Systems Support

Ensure tools and infrastructure run smoothly.
Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accounts, permissions, and cloud services
  • Troubleshoot basic IT issues
  • Evaluate and configure WordPress, CRM, & DNS tools

Software & Web Development

Build tools and websites that support NGOs.
Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to WordPress, web apps, APIs, or automation scripts
  • Improve NGO Tech and partner websites
  • Review code and assist with technical design

Documentation & Learning Resources

Turn complex tech into clear, usable guides.
Responsibilities:

  • Document processes and workflows
  • Create step‑by‑step guides and FAQs
  • Produce simple visuals or diagrams

Product, UX & Process

Help us understand NGO needs and deliver usable solutions.
Responsibilities:

  • Gather requirements from NGO partners
  • Map user journeys and pain points
  • Support prioritization, testing, and planning

Data & Research Support

Help us make informed decisions.
Responsibilities:

  • Collect and organize simple metrics
  • Research tools, best practices, and case studies
  • Summarize findings for internal use

How Volunteering & Internships Work?

Vetting Process:

  1. Submit your interest through our application form.
  2. We review your information and invite you for a short conversation.
    • We reserve the right to background check any volunteer/Intern
      • Why? Some clients may have sensitive & private data requiring more thorough vetting to be assigned.
  3. Create a Profile with links to your social accounts.
  4. We match you with a project and clarify expectations.
  5. You join our communication channels and begin onboarding.
  6. We check in regularly to ensure the work remains meaningful and sustainable.

Typical commitment:

  • 1–3 hours per week
  • Flexible around your demand, exams, deadlines, and life events
